To help you make the most of your 8' x 20' storage unit, we’ve put together a few simple guidelines and packing tips.

Know Your Space

Each of our units measures 8 feet wide by 20 feet long, providing 160 square feet of space — roughly the size of a one-car garage. That’s enough room to store:

The contents of a 3-bedroom home (furniture, boxes, and appliances).
Seasonal outdoor gear such as ATVs, snowmobiles, or lawn equipment.
Business inventory, tools, or small machinery.

Smart Packing Tips

Start with the big stuff: Place furniture, large boxes, or heavy items toward the back of your unit.
Work forward: Stack lighter boxes and frequently used items near the front for easy access.
Label everything: Mark each box clearly on multiple sides.
Use sturdy boxes: Avoid overpacking or using damaged boxes that may collapse.
Maximize height: Stack items up to the ceiling safely to make full use of vertical space.
Leave an aisle: Keep a small walkway so you can access items in the back later.

Keep It Clean & Dry

To prevent mold and mildew, never store anything damp or wet inside your container. Before storing items:

Wipe off condensation, mud, or snow.
Dry out camping gear, tarps, or coolers completely.
Avoid storing perishable or moisture-sensitive items.

Machinery & Vehicles

If you’re storing ATVs, snowmobiles, lawnmowers, or small equipment, we recommend placing a tarp, drip pan, or absorbent pad under them. This helps prevent stains or corrosion from oil or fuel drips and keeps your storage unit clean.

Bring Your Own Padlock

For your security, you’ll need to bring your own padlock when renting a unit. Choose a heavy-duty lock that fits securely in the door latch.
